LA Fitness Classes

LA Fitness has 21 fitness classes, and they are included in all membership plans. Plus, they have four premium studio programs, which are separate from your monthly fee.

However, LA Fitness class schedules are set by individual clubs and based on instructors’ availability.

I talked to a couple of people (LA Fitness members), checked out LA Fitness websites, and found the pattern of their timing, so based on that, I’ll give you class timing and tell you how you can find the exact class timing for your club.

How to Find Your Specific Club’s Class Schedule

LA Fitness Class Schedule

The Fastest Way: LA Fitness Class Finder

  1. Go to lafitness.com/Pages/LocateClassNearYou.aspx
  2. Select the class format from the dropdown
  3. Enter your zip code
  4. Set a search radius

Results will show you which nearby clubs are running that class, on which days, and at what times.

You can toggle between “Club View” (browse by location) and “Schedule View” (browse by date), depending on what you’re trying to plan.

Most Accurate for Today’s Classes: The LA Fitness App

Same-day cancellations, substitute instructors, and last-minute changes appear in the app before anywhere else.

Open the app, navigate to your home club, and tap the class schedule tab.

If you’re planning around a class today, this is even more reliable than their website.

For a Specific Class Across Multiple Clubs

Every class listed on lafitness.com/Pages/AerobicClasses.aspx has a “Locate a class near you” link.

It’s useful if you want Aqua Fit or Kickbox Cardio specifically and need to find the nearest club running it when you’re available.

Every Class on the Standard Schedule of LA Fitness

All the following are included at no cost, but their availability also depends on the club, studio space, instructor staffing, and local demand.

In urban classes, sometimes they have 8 to 10 of these classes scheduled every day. But in some urban areas, there are like 4 to 5.

However, as I mentioned above, you can find out. So you can follow the process, and you will know exactly how many classes there are today in your club.

Paid Classes at LA Fitness

LA Fitness mobility guide by coach

These four programs aren’t included in any membership. If you want any of these classes, you’ll need to sign a separate agreement and make a monthly payment.

  1. HIIT by LAF / Studio Group Training: Small-group high-intensity training with a certified trainer; it costs around $125 per month, and sessions run in a dedicated studio room and require advance sign-in. You can learn more in the LA Fitness HIIT Classes guide.
  2. Pilates by LAF: It’s reformer-based Pilates in a dedicated studio with reserved booking, and it’s not the same as Mat Pilates, which is the free floor-based class on the standard schedule.
  3. The Glute Room: A lower-body-focused studio program at select clubs; an extra fee is required.
  4. REZEN Recovery: Recovery-focused sessions using stretching and mobility work; it’s available at select clubs.

Senior Fit vs. SilverSneakers: Not the Same Thing

Senior Fit Classes

In most clubs, you can find them both, and they’re specifically designed for senior citizens.

But they operate through completely different systems, and one of them is connected to health insurance.

Senior Fit

It’s an LA Fitness-designed 50-minute class using lightweight dumbbells focused on muscle strength, bone density, and stamina.

It’s included with every standard membership.

SilverSneakers

It’s a national fitness program through Tivity Health, available to members whose Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, or employer group health plan includes it as a benefit.

If your insurance covers SilverSneakers, you can access participating LA Fitness locations at no out-of-pocket cost.

Many qualifying seniors pay because they don’t check these simple things, so you can confirm your eligibility at silversneakers.com before signing up as a paying member.

When Classes Actually Run

Yoga Classes in the GYM

Most clubs structure the class day across three windows, though exact times shift depending on the location:

Morning (roughly 5:30 AM to 10:00 AM):

  1. Cycle
  2. Yoga
  3. Aqua Fit is the most common morning offering.

Morning sessions are the least crowded of the day and attract members working out before work.

Midday (roughly 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM):

A lighter schedule overall; often you’ll find Senior Fit, SilverSneakers, and lower-intensity formats.

Older members and those with flexible schedules make up most of the midday attendance.

Evening (roughly 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM):

  1. Zumba
  2. Kickbox Cardio
  3. Cycle and high-energy strength classes run in the evenings and draw the largest turnout.

Cycle classes in the 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM slot on weekdays fill to capacity fastest.

Weekend mornings from around 8:00 AM to noon are the second-busiest class window after weekday evenings, while yoga and Zumba fill fastest on Saturday and Sunday.

What to Know Before Your First Class

Aqua Fit classes

You should arrive 10 to 15 minutes early, as it’s a general rule, and cycle classes specifically need bike adjustment before the session starts; popular weekday evening classes fill spots fast.

  1. If you want to attend cycle classes, you can go with padded cycling shorts, since the saddles are firm.
  2. For Aqua Fit, you’ll have to bring a swimsuit and flip-flops.
  3. For yoga and Mat Pilates, grip socks or bare feet work better than sneakers, and clubs have mats available, though regulars bring their own.

Premium studio programs like Pilates by LAF and Studio Group Training use a reservation system through the app or website.

Standard group fitness classes are first-come, first-served with no booking required.

Virtual Classes Through the App

Beyond what runs in the studio, two digital options are included with your standard membership, and you can access them through the LA Fitness app without visiting a club.

Both are useful on days when a scheduled class doesn’t fit your timeline.

  • LES MILLS+ provides access to video workout content from the LES MILLS library, including BodyPump, BodyCombat, and Yoga; you can use them anywhere without being at the club.
  • Echelon digital cycling provides structured ride programming for members who want more than the in-club cycle schedule; it’s also included at no extra charge.
