Most LA Fitness clubs open at 5:00 AM on weekdays and close between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
On weekends, they open at 8:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM.
However, LA Fitness doesn’t have any 24-hour locations, so hours may also vary by club, which you can confirm by calling, but generally they open at 5:00 AM. I did confirm this with multiple members at different locations.
Standard LA Fitness Hours in 2026
| Day | Opens | Closes |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 5:00 AM | 11:00 PM |
| Tuesday | 5:00 AM | 11:00 PM |
| Wednesday | 5:00 AM | 11:00 PM |
| Thursday | 5:00 AM | 11:00 PM |
| Friday | 5:00 AM | 10:00 PM |
| Saturday | 8:00 AM | 8:00 PM |
| Sunday | 8:00 AM | 8:00 PM |
On Friday, LA Fitness closes about an hour earlier than Monday through Thursday.
Weekend hours give you a 12-hour window compared to 18 hours on weekdays, so late Saturday or Sunday evening workouts aren’t possible the way they can be on a Tuesday.
In urban clubs like those in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, hours sometimes run slightly extended on weekdays.
But smaller suburban locations occasionally close earlier on weekends.
How to Check Your Specific Club’s Hours
The most accurate source is always the club’s own page.
- Go to lafitness.com
- Enter your zip code
- Select your location from the results
- The hours for that club will appear on its individual page.
Besides this, you can also download LA Fitness to find clubs and nearby locations, and it updates for holiday schedule changes faster than Google Maps.
LA Fitness Holiday Hours
Most of the time, LA Fitness is closed during holidays, or sometimes they reduce hours too.
| Holiday | Typical Schedule |
|---|---|
| New Year’s Day | Reduced, approximately 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM |
| Easter Sunday | Closed at most locations |
| Memorial Day | Reduced, varies by location |
| Independence Day (July 4) | Reduced, varies by location |
| Labor Day | Reduced, varies by location |
| Thanksgiving Day | Closed at most locations |
| Christmas Eve | Reduced, approximately 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM |
| Christmas Day | Closed at most locations |
| New Year’s Eve | Reduced, approximately 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM |
Btw, individual locations can change their timing too, which is why calling would be the best option if you want to work out on a holiday.
When the Gym Is Crowded

The After-Work Rush
The busiest stretch at every LA Fitness is weekday evenings, around 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
Cardio equipment has wait times, dumbbells have wait times, and group fitness classes fill up before you get a spot.
So, if evenings are the only time you can go, you should arrive closer to 5:00 PM than 6:00 PM; it may make a difference.
By the time 8:30 or 9:00 PM arrives, the gym clears out fast, but I personally prefer the morning to avoid crowds, even though I feel more energetic in the evening, as I eat all day.
Saturday Morning Is a Problem too
If you expect weekdays to be the busiest (which they are), Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to noon is the most crowded single window of the week at most LA Fitness locations; it’s often busier than any Monday evening.
Because people who couldn’t get there during the week all converge at once.
Quietest Time at LA Fitness for Workouts
| Time Window | Day | What to Expect |
|---|---|---|
| 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM | Weekdays | Light traffic |
| 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM | Weekdays | The quietest window of the week |
| After 9:00 PM | Weekdays | Empty, but limited time before close |
| After 1:00 PM | Saturday | Moderate morning rush has cleared |
| After 2:00 PM | Sunday | Quiet, though close, is at 8:00 PM |
Standard work schedules keep most people away, school keeps families away, and the evening crowd doesn’t arrive either.
The busiest month is January
Every January, LA Fitness clubs see a surge in traffic from New Year’s resolution memberships.
This lasts through mid-February before tapering off.
Equipment wait times, class capacity limits, and packed locker rooms are all part of January at any major gym.
By the third week of February, most clubs return to normal density; yup, some people give up quickly and forget their resolution. I’ve seen many in my life.
Amenity Hours Are Shorter Than Gym Hours
Opening time doesn’t mean every amenity inside is available; several services run shorter hours than the main workout floor.
Pool:

They get closed about half an hour before the main gym, sometimes even midday closures for cleaning.
If you want lap swimming, you can confirm pool hours at your specific club; see my LA Fitness Pool Hours guide.
Sauna:
It follows the same pattern as the pool; they also close 30 to 60 minutes before the gym floor.
And for more on sauna availability and what varies by location, see my article on LA Fitness Sauna.
Kids Klub:
Closes at 8:00 PM on weekdays at most locations and earlier on weekends.
And it’s not open on most major holidays, and exact hours are listed on each club’s individual page at lafitness.com.
If your gym schedule is built around Kids Klub availability, check those hours from general gym hours since they don’t always align.
Group fitness classes:

They run on a schedule set by each club individually, and the class schedule for your location is in the LA Fitness app and on the website.
Popular weekday evening classes fill fast; if you want the full class schedule breakdown and what’s included in membership, see the LA Fitness Classes Schedule article.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the schedule of LA Fitness?
LA Fitness clubs are open Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Friday from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Hours might be different too based on your location and may change on holidays. You can use the club finder at lafitness.com; it’ll give you the accurate hours for your location.
Is LA Fitness Open 24 Hours?
No, as of 2026, LA Fitness doesn’t operate any 24-hour locations.
All clubs are staffed facilities that follow set opening and closing times, and if you need around-the-clock gym access, 24 Hour Fitness operates locations with extended hours.
What time does LA Fitness close on Sunday?
Most locations close at 8:00 PM on Sunday, and Sunday mornings from around 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM tend to be busy, while Sunday afternoons quiet down.
However, remember that 8:00 PM is the closing time, not a guarantee, so you’ll want to check that.
Does LA Fitness close on holidays?
Yes, LA Fitness locations close entirely on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Easter Sunday.
On other major holidays like New Year’s Day, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve, hours are reduced, often 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Individual clubs may vary from these patterns, so you can check the app or call the club.
When is LA Fitness the least crowded?
Weekdays between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM are the quietest window at most clubs.
Mid-mornings from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM are also light.
Late weekday evenings after 9:00 PM are calm but leave limited time before closing, and the worst times are weekday evenings from 5:00 to 7:30 PM and Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to noon.
Do LA Fitness hours change in summer?
Some locations adjust summer hours, but it’s not a chain-wide policy.
Summer brings more midday traffic as kids are out of school, and weekend mornings tend to stay busy.
So, you can check the app for your club at the start of summer to see if any hours have changed from the standard schedule.
